If you know what you are doing, it can be as easy as walking around.

It varies with species, experience of the keeper, and sometimes the individual snake itself. Many species lend them selves very easily to captive husbandry while some are near impossable. Some species will have individuals that are easy and other individuals that are difficult. Continue reading the forums, other sources, and asking questions. If you have a particular species of interest please ask. There are a lot of interesting snakes that are great for the novice keeper. All snakes have the same areas of issues to address; food, water, housing, environment (temp), and security. If a snake is to specialised in a certain area it is best to avoid as a captive and some will not do well no matter what.
