#$%@^&!!! Edgar is being a little F#@%! Kinda long...

ARRRGHHH!!! One would imagine that a large iguana who is picked up everyday, at a certain time, and a certain way, would eventually adapt to this behavior and not FLIP OUT every SINGLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!! One would also think that this same iguana, who obviously has been around people for a while, would eventually get used to being touched, and petted, and talked to. ehgjskdhgkjfhdgjfnd
I know he has more personality inside, I have seen it peek through, but now he just seems so....angry, like a teenager!
I know I had a little bit of work cut out when I adopted Edgar, but GOOD LORD! He can be such a stubborn hard head...No matter how nice I am to him and how soft I talk to him, no matter how mant treats he gets, no matter what I do, it seems he remains just as cold and unwilling to get off his ego trip. I can't even touch him anymore wothout him flipping out and running the other way...Has anyone else had an iguana that is relentlous to become a little more open to their human? Nothing has changed. When I first got him, he loved to be scratched right behind his head lumps. Now he hates it. I don't think its breeeding season again, but it may have something to do with him shedding all the time...could that be causing him to shun me? It has been going on for months, and I thought it was just a phase. I am really starting to get disappointed. I know they are not dogs and cats, and do not like/need a lot of attention, but come on! MY SNAKES ARE MORE AFFECTIONATE THAN EDGAR!!

He's not violent, he doesn't bite or tail whip, he just seems to have so much hate. What more can I do to chill his @$$ out, and maybe get him to open up a little???
Well, I do appreciate any advice you crazy iguana owners would love to give me. And before I get a string of THEY AREN'T DOGS, THEY WON'T JUMP UP ON YOUR FACE AND START LICKING YOU, I realize this. I realized that fact when I got my snakes AND Edgar. I have NOT ONCE been disappointed with my snake's inability to show affection. I know Edgar is sweet inside, I've seen him, I just wish there is a way to bring it out of him...
Thanks for letting me blow off steam.

Sometimes my igs show me some sort of affection, sometimes i wish i could exchange all of them for cocker spaniels.I changed my expectations after i started raising igs.Now i dont expect open demonstration of affection, i expect only trust and confidence.Im happy when i notice my igs trust me. Another day i called Kenya and he came in my direction.I became sooooo happy!
Although Godzilla is in his breeding season he allows me to cut his nails and to spread Betadine on his bobos. That makes me happy too!
