A few good words about Steve Garrett

guttersnacks Aug 11, 2004 03:21 PM

After writing a long post about my dealings with Steve Garrett and having our web service here at work crash, here is my revised, yet no less heartfull compliment to Steve as a seller.

Long story short......
I bought a pair of Gulf Hammock babies from Steve. They were shipped next day with 3pm delivery guaranteed. They showed up at 5pm.
Snakes arrived in excellent condition, and I notified Steve all was well, and mentioned the delivery guy had no idea about the time guarantee, it was his second day on the job.
Steve took it upon himself for the next few months to bug FedEx about compensation for the late delivery. He kept me up to date every few weeks with a phone call, which I always seemed to miss unfortunately.
Yesterday, the refund check from Steve showed up for the FULL shipping price I had paid.
I think this shows that he is an excellent person to deal with as a seller, and I would have no issues, complaints or problems about ever dealing with him again.
I highly recommend Steve as a "buy from" guy.
I understand he's got some neat stuff hatching soon, so dont be afraid to deal with him!
These kind words are the LEAST I can do for all the trouble he went thru for me.
Did I say this was gonna be short? Sorry!
Tom Cook

Tom.............Thanks for the kind words. To set the record straight, it was Airborne Express, not Fed-Ex that dropped the ball on your delivery. I have never had any problems with Fed-Ex........EVER! Sorry again about that grinder of a complaint resolution process that Airborne subjects you to. I thought it was pretty ridiculous that it took almost 3 months to resolve. A word to the wise fellow shippers: While this was the only major hassle that I have ever had when dealing with Airborne, you really have to be proactive with these guys. They never ever sent me any written correspondence or returned phone calls regarding this tardy delivery..................Steve G.
