My dwarf pyxie hibernated this winter for several months. He got a good thick waxy shell, closed his eyes, didn't soak or eat. He's been out since early spring. I've had him about a year & he's on Ecoearth w/ a soaking dish of dechlorinated water. I changed his substrate about 5 weeks ago & it has since dried out. I normally keep it dry so he'll soak & prior to hibernation he spent most of the day, every day, soaking. Now he hangs out in the dry substrate & never soaks & has recently starting looking waxy again. I've tried wetting down the substrate around him, which caused him to scoot backward to a dry spot. He's not eaten in several weeks. Tonight I put him in his water bowl & he has stayed there, but is still balled-up, eyes closed, looking like he's hibernating. He does not appear to have soaked up any water.
Should I be worried or is this all normal? Is he brumating again? If so, why?
