Feeding Tips

z10silver Aug 11, 2004 11:19 PM

I recently traded for a baby albino california kingsnake. The dealer assured me it was feeding on f/t pinkies. (It's just too much trouble to get live pinks around here). I placed the snake in a feeding container with the pinkie, and it smelled it, bit it, but then dropped it. I have been offering pinkies every other day but now it wont even bite it. I have tried braining, and shaking the pinkie around with a tweezer. Any ideas??

Have you tried leaving it overnight?

I once heard an idea that you douse the mouse in chicken broth then give it to the snake. It worked for someone I know with her snake that hadn't eaten in 6 weeks. It was a different kind of snake, but I believe it will still work.
