animal planet TV

Does anyone here every watch Animal Planet TV. I'm new to the world of hots just having a copperhead that ive had for a little over a year now but i happen to be flipping through the tv last night and came to one of those stupid shows Miami Animal Cops. Well they happen to be talkin about 3 venmous snakes on the loose and i guess I was just very disappointed on how the portrayed everything, Always refering to them as the Deadly King Cobra or deadly forrest cobra and deadly spitter cobra. I agree they can be deadly but why refer to them as being deadly all the time. I think this gives people a diffent outlook of the snake. I was also very disapointed in the way the snakes for handle. the guy was basically free handling a 7'-8' king and like i said im new to hots and all but I'm pretty sure thats really not such a good idea, but thats not the icing on the cake the one that really pissed me off was the spitting cobra. This guy had the nerve to pick up the snake and then provoked to spit on his face while wearing safety goggles i belive that this is not necessary ever..I think that people like this give venomous keepers a bad rap that we dont desevere. let a lone the number of kids that probally watch the show and say "hey thats doesnt look so hard" and then ending up getting bit. shows like venom Er are very informative but Im just really disapointed in Animal planet and the discovery channel to allows things like this to happen...well thanks for reading Id love to hear your thoughts

They were creating dramatic situations for their audience. The general public expects (if they have the courage to watch the show*) to see verification of their fear, or (hopefully) see a close call danger situation. The contrived thrills mean more viewers so they showbaot. It helps ratings.

It's the world we live in...

*I have known several people who would freak out if they even saw a picture of a snake. hard to understand.

I saw that very same show. What a fool - surely his days are numbered. It did surprise me that Animal Planet, who is supposed to be on the animals' side, can be so irresponsible sometimes. I don't own any hot herps myself, but I have a lot of respect for the experts who do keep them, and people like that moron shouldn't be allowed to jeopardize things for everyone else.
