houseflies

my lobster roach colony is getting on my last nerve and i want to get rid of them but not until i establish a new feeder...i'm leaning towards flies...are they a good feeder??...where can i get some and how do i keep and breed them?...any help is appreciated...every web search i do just tells me how to kill flies

I got mine from grubco I think. They work marvellous, chams love em, and the maggots arrive fed to the brim on the verge of cucooning, so you only need to make the food for the flies (molasses, rice baby cereal, plain yogurt). After you make some of that I just toss it in the fridge and it lasts forever (for when the stuff the flies eat dries out just smear some more on.I have them in plastic shoeboxes with holes in the top, when needed just slide into the fridge for 30-60 minutes and work fast after (be sure to knock them off the rim before opening, they can still crawl out, just not fly).
