Wrinkled Skin?!?!?!

TheDrew1 Aug 12, 2004 10:44 AM

One of my bearded dragons skin is starting to wrinkle. At first it was just when she moved like it should be but now when i hold her and shes standing straight the skin on her back wrinkles. What is the problem? Dehydration? Not enough food? Not enough calcium? Or is it ok? She seems good because shes still eating a lot and is still alert. But i would like some advice.

Thanks

Does she drink much? How old is she? How big is she? What does she eat?

If you have an air conditioner on that will act as a dehumidifier and dry out the air in your house. During the hotter months when he have our air conditioning on we try to get all of our beardies to drink a little water every day. Try giving your beardie some water or Pedialyte by a dropper. Just drip it on his nose and wait to see if he will lick it up. A favorite in our house is diluted apple juice, the kind without any added sugar. They will always eagerly lick that up!

exactly, I cant think it would be anything else?! when you pinch the skin does it go back right away, if not she's dehydrated, if it does go back she's fine, always remember that!

get a flavored water(make sure not carbonated and not 2 much sugars!), or make your own. like Veronica said.

I try to get my beardie to drink every day, and i also spritz the cage with water about 3-4 times during the day, i try to make every thing be as natural as i can. (like as if it would be in the wild.) also if you have some fake plants then spray those with water, your beardie will probably drink off the leaves. how old is she?
