question about housing together and size of cage

rttlrvenom Aug 12, 2004 12:55 PM

iv been looking at getting a piar or trio of loes for a while right now i have 2 snakes and a water dragon. Im building a cage out of some scrap and it just looks like a good leo cage its about 36Lx15Wx11H. I was wondering if it would be possible to keep a male and female together all the time. I mean i want them to breed but not all the time and i dont want the female to die from being over bred. Will they breed all the time or just during the breeding season. also will a trio be able to live in and area or 36Lx15W or should i just go with a pair.

thanx

Well, that is about 25 gallons so it would be perfect for two leos. but you are right that the male would stress out the female by constantly trying to breed with her. what you could do is buy a piece of scrap plexi-glass or acrylic and make a divider down the middle of the tank, so you can seaporate them when you dont want them to breed.
