How do you sex a Tegu? I have done snakes is it similar?

From what I have read yes they are probed like snakes when they are not fully grown. Once they have reached about 18 months I believe the males will then have large jowels where the female will not. Males will also have two bb type bulges near the vent and a female will not. You might want to go to www.bluetegu.com or www.agamainternational.com To see what they say on the subject. I have not probed mine my vet did it though. I would not know what to tell you other than to pass on what I have heard. Good luck
