My snake is back!

Anners Aug 12, 2004 05:14 PM

I have a 1.5 year old BP named Medusa, she's a little less than 3 ft long. She escaped her tank Memorial Day weekend (May 31) and was lost for 2 months. We feared her dead, as we were moving that week from our apartment into a house, and imagine my surprise when I walked outside of our new house last week and she was laying in the middle of the walk! We suspect she had hidden in one of the storage boxes, then crawled out into the gargage, and when the door opened and it happened to be raining, she wanted to get water. She was very dehydrated and skinny, but as that was about a week ago, she has recovered nicely so far. She has drank much water, and eaten 4 hoppers. She seems almost her usual self, (yay!) I was wondering though if the 2 months of stress/lack of food and water might stunt her growth? She is the absolute best snake ever, so docile and friendly and absolutely GORGEOUS. She's so nice that I am not worried when the kids I nanny want to hold her (5 & 4 yrs.) I am so happy my baby is back!

Congrats! What a great story! She knew it would be moving day soon and she decided to pack herself for you.

Lucky for you and the rest of us. Snakes running loose in apts. or backyards brings out the vigilante lawmakers passing more laws against keeping reptiles.
