Well, the snake is doing fine. He's eating frozen/thawed with no problem. The hoof cream took the worst of the glue residue off and then at the insistance of some coworkers the peanut butter treatment got the rest of it off (they thought that suggestion from the rat snake forum was too funny and I shouldn't ignore it). Elmer (or Skippy as some others are now calling him) shed his skin last night though I had to help him with a few small patches today that were a bit stubborn. Far as I can tell he's as good as new. The scales don't appear damaged though I did see a trio of scales about 1/4 of the way down that looked to be slighly pigmented with speckled red and not an actual wound or anything. I don't know if that's normal for him or if it is something related to the glue trap incident. Tomorrow he'll be getting another meal which should make him happy.
