What a great idea!

Thanks I got the idea in one of the other forums . Some guy had converted some old furniture. I got a new dresser and this one ended up getting a hole in the side so I figured what the heck lol. I was gonna keep the very top drawr in as a slide out light hood but my ficus was a bit too tall so just left the top drawer out too.

I've seen great conversions like this in an old issue of Vivarium. Very neat! My favorite was a huge ig cage made out of a demolished school library built in bookcase. It had an arched scrolled top and was about 6' tall. The original glass panels were replaced with screen if they were cracked and it had the original framed door. I made a gecko terrarium out of a wood and glass corner cabinet. Another fave was an old tv/stereo console turned into a gecko cage. The terrarium front was framed by the original TV screen frame with all the control knobs left in place across the front. Looked as if you were watching the terrarium scene on tv. All the controls, wiring and supplies were kept in the stereo side and the top (used to be for the turntable) opened for access.

I think the only thing I would do to this would be to put it up on some type of stand or legs to give the cham a bit more security. They prefer to be as high as possible. Maybe you could steal carved armchair legs and attach them to the bottom of the dresser?
