Hi drsmith,

I'd recommend proexotics.com for caresheets and i use dirt for my hatchlings and adults alike.

0.1.3 Varanus Exanthematicus (Adisa "long term captive" other 3 "yet to be named hatchlings"

I would also recommend proexotics, and the following book:
"The Savannah Monitor Lizard - The truth about Varanus exanthematicus" by Daniel Bennet & Ravi Thakoordyal.

I know many will disagree with me here but I would recommend that you use newspaper for substrate during the quarantine. Your sav will most probably be WC (wild caught) and I highly recommend that you get a fecal done by a vet, preferably twice as a vet may not necessarily parasites in every stool sample. If it's infected with coccidia as mine was, you will want to change the substrate at least twice a day until cleared. After that, go with dirt.

I hope this helps.

Mark
