As far as I'm concerned, as long as it gets hot it's fine by me. It's the quality of the thermostat/rheostat that I'd be looking at. I'm a firm believer that ALL UTH, heat rocks, heat tape... anything that gets hot needs one. I can't beleive some of the animals/pictures I've seen *shudders*.

I guess I never answered which were more reliable.

I like the zoo med line for thermostats/rheostats. I'm going to get a ranco in a month or two for my racks though... I'm so happy about it too!

thanks brian. i'lltake your advice about the rheostat.i'm trying to get everything needed and set up before i getleos. like i posted earlier i have the tank,hides,food/calcium dish.i just need my stone slabs for substrate,uth & rheostat. ijust bought a esu digital thermometer with temp prob.is there any thing alse i should get. this will be my first leos . ive had a whites tree frog now for 7 years and want to get lizards now. thanks for your sugestions
