Gabe freaked out...

benzman1 Aug 13, 2004 11:10 AM

I out Gabe the Gecko in her humid hide last night and she freaked. She got all nervous and did not know what to do or how to get out. I have a round deep ziplock that I cut a hole in the lid and covered the edges of the whole with tape. Will she ever go in there?

Don't try to put your leo in the hide; he'll find it on his own. I put my hide hole on the side, so the way in and out is easy to see. Also, the easiest way I've found to eliminate the sharp edges on the hide is to take a cigarette lighter and gently melt the edges of the hole. It makes them completely smooth. Just be sure it is completely cold before you put it in for the leo, and don't touch the edge right after you melt it. Plastic holds the heat from melting a lot longer than you think!
