i herd it is better to start out with babys then raise them to breed.is this true? and when the female lays her eggs should i just let her dig a tunnel in her cage and lay or should i give hr an egg laying chaimber?

I would like to start with babies because than you can raise them how you want. And I would use a laying "chamber" or box.

A nestbox shouldn't be necessary.
There are many reasons why raising them together is better, one of which is you can learn to raise them.
I do hope your main purpose is to keep them, because you like them. If not, you'll probably give up long before anything about breeding even matters.


I would recommend getting babies, not worry about breeding, concentrate on keeping them. If you end up with a pair and do your job, you will most likely get more eggs than you want.
