Dragons Tremors

joeycoco98 Aug 13, 2004 09:46 PM

It appears that my dragon has episodes of tremors. YOu have to watch him/her, they are not violent but if you watch you can see them happening. Any ideas as to what may be causing this. She is still a baby. She has a UVA light and a basking lamp the emits UV.

Thanks,
Miller

What about UVB? does she have a full spectrum light? What about calcium supplements? It sounds like most likely a calcium deficieny. Baby beardeds grow fasst and should be supplemented with calcuim almost every feeding.

Thanks for the reply.

I buy 100 crickets at a time. I have two dragons but the tremors only happen in one. As far as calcium, I feed the cricket gut load with added calcium as well as vegetable matter. I am going to purchase a light that emits UVB. I will say that I have only had the dragons for a few weeks but I take the out to get natural sunlight regularly, almost daily, so I would think they are getting enough UVA and UVB. I will still purchase the extra light just in case.

Thanks again for the reply,

When my female, Cajun, was gravid, she did the same thing and our Vet said to give her yogert. It gave her a calicum boost, but I would highly recommend you make an appointment for her. This is only my experance, and I am not a Vet. Your beardie could have something other than calicum issues.

Thank you for the reply, I will make an appointment with the vet if the problem persist. I have only noticed it once so I don't know if it is an ongoing issue or a one time thing. Did the treatment your vet suggest work for you?

Yes it did, She got 1cc three times a day for I think a week them surprise we got eggs, and gave it to her for another week after that. I have since been adding more calicum to her diet.
