Washed play dusty!!!! ( a little long post sorry)

Pimpnit869 Aug 13, 2004 10:07 PM

Hello forum! I just picked up some WASHED play sand for my BD's and after I sifted it it seemed like it was really dusty. I purchased it from Meeks hardware store out here in Yuba City Ca. I didn't buy the stuff from Home Depot due to the large pieces that were in the brand they sell. My question is is the dustiness bad for my BD's? Should I take it out and try a different brand? The only time I really see the dust when I sift it to clean I do take them out to do so though. If anyone out there nows what brand is the best to use please give me the info on where to get it and all that stuff.
Thanks Jay

I like the shelf-liner personally. Not a fan of the sand.

well, you may enjoy the aestetic of the sand, but when it impacts your bearded and you either have to spend a ton on vet bills or a lot of tears over your dead beardeds carcas you most likely wont like it so much. love jen

Is washed playsand supposed to be dust free?

The HD sand in my Uro's cage is fairly dusty. Of course, if you sift like a maniac and drop it from 2' there's gonna be a dust storm. With regular (controlled) sifting there isn't must of a dust up.
