Had a black speck around his eye when I got him but it went away. He just shed a couple weeks ago and he has black around his eyes. Is this from his shed or is it something to be concerned about?

i don't think it's mites, it looks like he has dirt caked up around his eyes. maybe caused by burrowing in his bark? i tried to take a picture but NONE of them came out clear.

Irulan(my albino corn)had the same problem and i thought the same thing...turns out it was mites. They had burrowed in and made her life misserable. It took a little time to relize they were mites....aslo took a little time to get rid of. just keep and close eye on it and to be on the safe side i would super clean the cage and keep it on newspaper or paper towels for a little while....ya just never know
