Here's the latest hatchling that emerged a few days ago.

A hatchling that emerged 2.5 months ago, then and now (a bit dirty in the second photo).

here's the same juvenile, a bit annoyed at being restrained for a photo

you wouldn't happen to have any step by step instructions on the rock work you have in your large enclosure, would you?
I'm in the process of building a larger enclosure for my water and thought that would be a nice addition.
Thanks

Sorry, don't have step by step instructions for the rock making typed out anywhere. I posted it all on another forum ages ago, but the format got changed and that post lost in the process.
Even if I did have a step by step guide, trust me when I say that the cruelest thing I could do would be to give you a copy.

That last pic, were you squeezing the crap out of that poor thing. hahahaha
Beautiful monitor, DK.

haha... looks like I was squeezing it, doesn't it. I haven't been handling these guys at all, so they gape at me a lot. If I catch one out basking, they'll often gape without me even opening the enclosure.
They're not far off the size, though, when they start to calm down and see the world as less of a threat.

2.5 month old hatchelling is bigger then the lace I got from a German breeder last year (born 30.08.2000) needless to say I was disgusted and never took the others 2 males from him.
Aim sure many top varanophil's will tell me this is normal growth in nature! However I think its crappy husbandry period. Makes me wonder how all those PhD’s relates to this hobby? It seems to me they might be cut up in there old ways and cant adjust to modern Herpetoculture, as much as I would have love to take Sam's side against FR am afraid every points FR broth up was perfectly fit for captive varanids husbandry.
Aim afraid this post will bring me the next wave of enemy’s, aim sorry but its how it is.
I side with the monitors not the keepers.
love the photos
