Striped from Sunkissed?

Kat Aug 14, 2004 04:25 AM

Interesting... I bred a sunkissed to a stripe, and got a striped hatchling out of the pairing... I wasn't aware of the stripe gene being present in the sunkissed lines (the sunkissed came directly from Kathy Love). Anyone else had stripes pop up from their sunkissed pairings?

I'm not working with the sunkissed morph yet. I did produce my first breeding this year to produce hets. I bred my pure F1 okeetees to a proven male hypo. The first clutch is out and posted in the classifieds. They all show normal patterns. However, I have a couple of amels that are het for anery that came out with the aztec pattern. Neither parent shows any degree of this pattern. It could be from a few generations back. It always worth keeping those for future breeders, if you have the space! LOL

If anyone else bought them directly from me (both parents) and got weird stuff, please let me know the parent's ID (that I supplied when you bought them) so I can check it out and see what is going on. I have had most of these lines since the '80s, with few exceptions, and thought I knew the lines well.

Thanks for the heads-up!
