Punta Gorda - home of Bill Haast??

PHScales Aug 14, 2004 08:38 AM

Really worried about Bill Haast and his venomous critters. Anyone heard how he and Nancy fared?

Yes, that's the area he lives in. I have no word as yet, but one fellow on another forum who has vivited Bill's place commented that it is a brick fortress. Chances are he & Nancy & the critters are okay.

....telling someone your story about the coral snake loose in your truck... LOL

Anyway, if you hear anything about the Haast's, please post it.

I wasn't sure where you are in FL, but hope you fared OK.

Bonnie, I'm in central Palm Beach County, a tad east of Lion Country. We had worse weather the day before the storm from normal thunderstorms.
Let me know what you think of the site.

My husband was in Royal Palm when I met him and imported him from there... and we used to visit until his parents moved to TN... shucks.. I'd love to have seen your critters.

I doubt the storm would do much to the Lab, or the snake pit, but his house is surrounded by large oak trees. His house could sustain some damage.

Update... I went over to the Serpentarium in Punta Gorda today, For the most part, the buildings are ok. One building had the aluminum roof of the back porch torn off. There were a few large trees down, but compared to the rest of Punta Gorda, Bill's place looks good.

I have been trying to reach him for two days, but his phone is not working. I understand that he also fell and broke his hip a few weeks ago. I will be going over there tomorrow to check on them.
Blessings
