breeding.

Hey all, im considering breeding leopard geckos. Im only 14 but im saving up my money for a pair. i have 60 dollars right now, but will have more soon.
Anyway, are they particularly difficult to breed? For the cooling period in the fall, should I open the window near their future cage just a crack to let in some cold air? I live in Wisconsin, so it gets pretty cold, but perhaps that would be the best method. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

All you need to do is put a male and a female together during the right time of year, and they'll breed. Around April is usually a good time. You could also leave them together year round.

Just remember that it is not just enough to stick two leos in a cage togther! especially if you are buying young geckos!! the female needs to be at least 50 grams before she should be allowed to breed, so you will have to house them seaporatly untill then, it also means that you must buy a scale so you know when she is big enough. when they do produce eggs, you will have to incubate them some how, and so you will need to spend money on an incubator. you can DIY for cheap, but when you young and unemployed (like myself!) it can pose a challange to get any ammount of money togther. you will also need to feed the young geckos something, and they can really eat so be prepared for that! oh, and before you even get started you must take your geckos to a vet and have them checked for parisites ect.. and this can be very expensive depending on where you live and how bad your geckos are (i.e. if they come form petco). just some friendly advice, mostly from my own experences! but my numer one piece of advice is to get your parents in on it, it can really help if you need a small loan (loans are good!!)

You make it way to complicated. I did forget to mention that the female should be atleast 50g. I also should have mentioned that you should only breed them if they act normally and such. There is no reason to bring it to the vet if they're acting normally.
