Has anyone ever used the T-rex UV-heat lights? They come in a flood light and a spot light. What wattage is recommended for a 55 gallon. (100 watt or 160 watt?) Oh and stupid question maybe what does self ballasted mean?

I've never used T'rex's lights but I can explain the rest. MVB's require a ballast (it's kind of a power transformer) some have an external one that when you replace the light you just replace the bulb (cheaper usually) the self ballasted ones are included in the light and the whole unit is replaced when you need to change out the bulb. Hope that helps.
