I dont know anything about reptiles at all. Im in the houston area of Texas, and I was cleaning out old boxes of stuff and found a wierd looking gecko thing or something. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it is. Theres lots of lizards or salymander type things around here, but ive lived here for 8 years and never seen anything like this... help?

I am from the Houston area as well. They are an introduced species of gecko called the Turkish gecko, Hemidactylus turcicus. They are pretty much all over TX now and came over in shipments of plants and goods from the Mediterranean. They are closely related to the house geckos which are introduced to every other corner of the world.
