Well i made a cage for one of my snakes but it was my first cage ever and it just wont work for a snake its really easy for a snake to get out of. So i started thinking what i could put in this cage and i was thinking of a few reptiles and tortises came to mind. So my questions are, is there any tortois that can live comfortably in a 25 gallon long cage. that is small and pretty easy to care for since this would be my first tortise. the cage i made is all wood except for the 2 srceen windows and the 2 plexiglass doors.

Maybe one Russian tortoise would be ok. I believe that females are a bit smaller than males if i am not mistaken. I love my girl, Manga. She lives in a 30 long, but she gets out for excersize in the house whenever i notice her getting restless. Also, getting an outdoor excersize pen would be beneficial too for your tort (if you get one). Unfortunately, i live in an apartment in the city, so we really cant leave her out. Russians are fairly easy to keep, and stay relatively small, especially if you compare to all of the other tortoise species out there. And, as with any animal, i would make sure that you try to get a CB animal. Manga was an import, and fairly long term, but CB russians would be the best way to go. Good luck.

i think its way to small for any adult tortoise.

It might be okay for a hathcling for a year or so,.
What are the exact dimesnions?
You really will want to be able to create a substantial heat gradent with lightg form above not via heat pads) and this is pretty hard to do in just a small space.

Plus tortoises roam.
