And calcium with vitd3 and what I was told is that you should give your little tegu MORE than just a dusting as it is growing at a very fast rate. Once I realized I wasn't giving enough and gave more it stopped. Hope it helps

That's too bad, I was in beverly's pet center (local pet store) today and they had 2 baby b&w tegus - one of them was laying there with his legs twitching. I didn't know what it was until now, and that's a shame that they have the tegus for sale for $99 and don't even take care of them properly. Hopefully the 2 tegus they had are sold asap to good owners who will take care of them.

My wife and I rescued two columbian b&w from some people that did not know how to take care of them. One died the night we got them home but the other is now doing ok. She is over a year old and only about 16 inches long. Her legs were useless and her lower jaw had receeded to the point she could not eat. SDZ diet with lots of extra vitamins and liquid D3and 8 months later she is shedding starting to walk again. She has grown 8 inches since we got her but I do not think she will ever get to be a real tegu(size wise) She is however the fiestiest one we have. It is a very sad thing to come across these guys in stores or peoples homes and see them not taken care of. Here is a pic of the little girl we rescued her lower jaw is healing and she is doing better. The first two months were touchy.
You can fix your tegus twitching you just need to act now and do what ever it takes. Good luck to you.
