Feeding

monocledcobra Aug 14, 2004 08:08 PM

Just wondering.....I have been reading a lot about feeding pellets and greens to beardies as the main part of their diet. Just giving them dusted crix occasionally. Have any of you had any success feeding like this. If I went to this strategy I only have the Rep-Cal Bearded Dragon food availible to me (I dont know if its any good). I am curently feeding mine a salad of shredded carrots, collard, mustard, and dandelion greens. Along with crickets (I let Spike eat as many as he can in a 10 minute period).

Thanks

i havn't really tried this method but i'm sure it is okay, you might want to put a bit of supplement on the salad he's been eating.i feed my dragon about 5 large crix, i would never use the 10 minute theory, but if it works for you thats great! my beardie could eat 60 in 10 minutes! lol. plus beardie's can get FAT! mine is very chubby. lol. .
i use pellets, if you get pellets that are few different colors he might pick out a certain color, lol mine only eats red pellets. hehe, but if she's hungry enough she'll eat da green ones.
alot of pellets say that the pellets can be there diet, but i dont agree, dont listen to what the jar sais!
Good luck!
