i found a tree frog. not sure wha the is though

Ok here is a weird one. I am new to frogs. I dont know a thing about them. But my girl does. well i was playing socom II tonight and i heard a weird thing slap against my inside window curtain and i was like holly jesus a Bat because i only saw the curtain move. I didnt have a clue what it was. then it jumped onto my bed and freaked me out. Then i realized it was a frog. Talk about freaking me out. I was yelling to my friends on socom that theres a freaking bat in my room theres a bat in my room.
so my question is what kind of tree frog could this be? I know its a treefrog. the thing was sticking to everything. everytime it tried to escape me it would stick to whatever it jumped to. i would say snout to vent its about 1 1/2 inches long. its kind of olive greyish brown. big black eyes and rough looking skin with blotchey markings all over it. I am hoping to get a digital camera to take a pic of it before i let him go tomorrow night when its cooler and wetter outside. and then i will post hte pic. he is pretty cool looking thats for sure.
thanks for anyone who can tell me what he is.

Did if have yellow markings under its legs? It could be a northern, eastern or cope's gray treefrog. Go to this website and see if this is it...if it's not...what state do you live in? Knowing that will be able to narrow it down a lot.

The markings on the frog are kind of similar but he seems to be darker. the one in the pic the markings are very contrasting. his arent so dark on light. he sure is cute looking though. He has a very funny looking face. almost got that whitestreefrog look in his face. so cute.

The shade of the color doesn't really matter, as long as its some shade of green or gray. The markings don't have to be perfect either. I have some lacking almost any marking on the back.

I rechecked the frog before i let him go and he did have bright yellow markings on his hindlegs. do grey tree frogs have those?
He was the coolest frog i have ever seen in New Hampshire. Wish I knew where to look to find them more often then having them jump into my bedroom and scaring the crap out of me. LOL

yes, grey tree frogs do have the yellow on their hind legs.

Yup, they have yellow on the insides of their legs.

As for finding them, do you have a pool? They seem to love the pool at my house, especialy around breeding season. But that could be because it's more like a pond than a pool untill July when someone finally buys some chemicals to clean the thing. They have a very pretty call, but it drives my sister nuts so every time she hears one, outside with a net she'd go, stalking around the pool until she caught something. Then she'd hand it over to me to take care of, and go back to stalking around to pool to be sure there wasn't another one. And then different ones would show up, and the process would be repeated.

Maybe if you bought a kiddie pool and filled it up with water that would have the same effect... Just leave it and let the dead leaves take over... hehehe.

Good Luck
Emily
