I'm going to purchase a heating pad today. is there a particulat kind or brand that is better than others? does a certain kind tend to malfunction more often than others?
thanks for the advice!

I don't care for Zoo Meds, I like ExoTerras. Most of what I use is flexwatt heat tape. No matter what you use you are gonna want to hook it up to a regulation of some sort. Rheostat, thermostat or simple dimmer switch. Otherwise they all typically go up to 135-140 and sit there.

I purchased a Dragon's Lair heat mat and BAH-1000 thermostat. They are relatively inexpensive and work well. Mine are over a year old and are still working great. For the money I think they are a good deal. I also use a human heating pad set on low for the cool side.
