Louisiana Pines in TX

Rust Aug 15, 2004 01:38 PM

Anyone know if there are LA pines around Lovelady? I was visiting an uncle there last month when my wife came in from a trip to town (if you want to call Lovelady a town) and remarked that they had seen a big gopher down at the end of the drive. I corrected her and said it would have been a bull. A couple of days later I was flipping through my field guide and happen to pause at the page with Pituophus ranges. It showed pines in that area, not bulls. Damn I wish I had gone and looked at it!

you might want to check with the Texas fish & game or dept of natural resources ( not sure of the proper name in the state of Texas). You might also contact the fish and wildlife service regional office, they might be able to provide you with information.
