New Frog

earwiggy Aug 15, 2004 02:16 PM

I currently own 4 leopard frogs, and am starting to find them a little boring. I was wondering if there is any more social frog that I can buy that has a similar set up to a leopard frog.

I would suggest maybe some albino leopard frogs as they are exactly the same exept they are yellow.

I am not sure what you mean by boring. Frogs are not really animals that you can hold or play with. They are more of display animals. Leopard frogs, as far as many frogs go, are fairly active little guys anyway. I guess you could always get something like an african clawed frog and keep it in an aquarium, but I don't see how it would be any more exciting.

I cannot think of a social frog! The only time a frog will seek out the company of other frogs, is during mating season. Otherwise, other frogs are merely an annoyance, and competition during hunting for food.

I was thinking a Fire Bellied Toad. I was originally going to get a pair, but they weren't in stock so I ended up with Leopard Frogs.

I have five fire-bellied toads and they mostly hide behind rocks all day until I offer food then they come out of hiding. As for exciting I'd say they are not much more active than any of my other frogs besides my two pac-man.
