Current market value of Bredl's/Centralians??

HomesickAggie Aug 15, 2004 06:19 PM

I just got an awesome adult male Bredli last weekend. These are really cool pythons. I've never kept them before. He's a brick red animal with an orange belly. I'm not sure if I wanna attempt to find a suitable female or possibly trade him. (I'm more into BCI than pythons). If I do decide to part with him though, I really don't have any idea what they're worth right now. They're still a pretty obscure species so finding other ads for nice adult males isn't real easy. I just wanna make sure I don't go and ask for some crazy price if the value on them has recently dropped. Any opinions from anyone with more than a week's experience with them is greatly appreciated. Thanks alot. Ryan.

Don't see adults for sale that often. I have been wanting to get a pair of young ones. Like you say the prices are kinda high. But the people selling young seem to be having a hard time selling them. Casey Lasik offered me $750 shipped last December (they were offered on kingsnake for $1000 a pair), but I just didn't have the money. I thought it would be an okay investment that I would get my money back the first breeding season. I just got back from Daytona and they were there for $375-500 a pair, though there were not that many of them. Like you said they are kinda obscure, but not very much in demand. I almost bought a pair at $375, but I think the price can get even lower for the lack of interest in them.

A 2.1 trio on the Classifieds is going for 500.00 shipped. So males are probable worth around 200-250

I just bought a pair of adult striped Centralians from Next World Exotics for $1,000, and IMO, it is money well spent. I'm a big carpet fan, and these are, IMHO, the kings of the carpets (*ducks the flames* lol). I personally saw it as a pretty good deal for a soon-to-be-breedable pair of adults, especially stripes. If you are the person on venomousreptiles.org with the adult male for sale...well, you have a killer animal. I personally would keep him and try to get a female to match, but if I were going to sell him, he wouldn't be cheap! I actually thought about seeing what I could scrounge up to offer you on him, and sell off my smaller, mouse eater male, but funds are currently too tight. Anyway, if you are the right person, he is an awesome animal, and I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do.
