That sure was the easiest Daytona show to move around it, it was pretty empty of people. Had fun looking, didn't buy any animals. The main purpose was to get a few bags of frozen mice....and what do you know, nobody had any. Daytona for getting the weakest part of Charley was messed up pretty bad. When I left less than half of Volusia county had power. Only saw 3 working street lights, and probably only that many signs on A1A actually standing. Did you see the Ocean Center metal sign? Twisted and broken to the ground? The two story glass windowed surf shops got totaled, I assumed they were bullet proof glass, but Charley took them all out. The rain sucked driving back to north Florida, but all in all was fun for me. We are still working relief for the central part of the state, so keep your thoughts with those who have lost everything. I don't think the nation really realizes how bad Charley hit Florida. The San Fran earthquake in 89 doesn't compare to the damage to life and property of this storm.
