Sometimes, my leos have a little yellow/tan colored crystals attached to one end of their urate, I can see that their urate itself is white, but just got these crystal "coated" at one end. I am thinking that this has some relationship with the type of food they eat. These crystals only exist with leos that eat mainly mealworms and superworms. My other 3 leos that eat crickets have pure white urate with no trace of the crystals. I actually asked my vet about this before, but he said as long as the urate itself is white, then its normal. I am not sure about this so I am asking here.
This is my mealworm/superworm setting: I use mainly oatmeal as bedding, with a mix of wheat germ, wheat bran. I also sprinkle fish flakes (for tropical fish) on top regularly. Moisture source is slices of carrot.
Besides these crystals, all my leos are fine, eating and active. Shall I be worried?
