Spent 8 hours today hiking the badlands of Petrified Forest national park, didn't see much of anything, didn't expect to in that wasteland, hoped to see a couple rattlers, but didn't. I did however manage to see this guy at the beginning of the trail, I guess I should've stopped there 
Saw another tiny little lizzy too, was about 1" body w. 1.5" tail, grey/black patterned, got one pic but it's fuzzy and he ran before I could get another.
Hopefully I'll have better luck road herping tomorrow night. Thunderstorms set in here as dusk fell.
