Check out these racks.Light and heat provided by rope light on a dimmer/thermostat,and only paper towels as substrate. The towels have to be changed DAILY(a pain)but they are the cleanest cages I can imagine.Jeff

pretty cool! about how much heat do those rope lights throw?

Jeff Schofield Aug 17, 2004 07:28 AM

Dan,I run a single line of the rope light under 1/4"plexi.The winter time cellar temp was in the high 50s and it kept colubrids just fine.I did have to put a dimmer on it in the summer due to humidity problems but its real safe to use.At its highest setting it wont burn or cause a fire hazard. Its also practically waterproof--which to me is always a good selling point.Any other questions feel free,I am very impressed with the material because even when the bulbs die they STILL give off heat!!! So the older the better, lol.Jeff
