Heat Lamps???

I've been slowly switching my breeding program from Brazilian Rainbow Boas to Morelia Pythons (so far just a few Irian Jaya Carpet Pythons and a couple Jungle Carpets). I'm using Vision Model 422 cages, I never used Heatlamps just UTH , Do I really need them for Carpet Pythons? I haven't and they all seem to be fine.......
