Just got a baby about 12 inches with the long tail...I just wanna know how to get him big fast...crickets is about all he can stomach im sure for now, but when's the appropriate time for pinkies?....if they're anything like savannahs then im in the clear having 3 of those that eat hoppers at 3 months old. I'm just asking for a small caresheet and any other additional information you can provide....thanks.

For the care sheets you should go to the following sites as well as take the time to run through the old posts on this site. www.bluetegu.com or www.agamainternational.com Bert at Agama international has answered more questions for me than I ever could have imagined. He also has written many books and articles on Tegus. If you can look up reptiles magazine online and buy thier Nov 2002 issue they are $8.00 plus shipping but that article (writen by Bert) has some of the best information around in it.
As for when to feed pinkies I would wait till he looks big enough to be able to swallow it down with out a prob then give them a wirl. Good luck!!

for fast growth feed well gut loaded crickets (dusted with calcium). I also fed them hopper mice much sooner than they could actually take it by cutting it up for them into 3-4 pieces. That way they get to eat a more developed skeletal system than they would with pinkies/fuzzies.
All that plus a good basking spot 110 degrees will give you very fast growth.

These guys are almost 2 months old and already eating 3 hoppers each (whole, no more cutting necessary) every other day. They are probably 17-18 inches TL.
