pet-d-fence & lights

rudyyj Aug 16, 2004 01:51 PM

I have used "pet-d-fence" screening to make my chameleon cage and am now woried about the heat of the basking bulb. has anyone had any experience w/ it? I have set a 75watt bulb directly on it and it got a little soft and flexable but did not melt. but that was a short term (half hour test). and only a small section. any thoughts?

You could also try suspending the light shroud off of the screen so it is not in direct contact with the screening.. The metal shrouds become VERY hot, and will easily melt through if left long term.
