Weeeell, anyway.. I've noticed in the past 2 weeks or so, my female has become increasingly fatter (almost doubled in size). I have changed their diet to something new, but my male eats much more than her, and he's not gaining much weight, I think we're at a stump with him. He'll eat but.. he'll glass dance 'til it's all gone, bah.

Anyway, since she's been getting a bit fatter.. and has trouble walking without dragging her stomach.. (My pride and joy of all my reptiles).. umm, I'mma gonna take her up to the pet shop this weekend and have this guy who works there look her over.. tell me if she's gravid or not.

Anyway, wish me luck (Hoping we get a nice clutch out of her).

congrats and good luck! i'd also recommend taking her to a vet if you have a good reptile vet.

This guy is like an equal and beyond a vet, lol. He's like my encyclopedia for my herps and the trouble they're in. I took my BDs up there to sex 'em. "Both males" I took my uros up there.. "Green one's male, Brown's a female" Took my Savannah up there because he had a bad infection "Clean it with tincture iodine and he should heal up". Man, I don't even have a good vet around here. People freak out when they see a lizard bigger than the ones running around.

But if I can find a good vet I'll take her anyway if she is Gravid.

You are lucky to have that pet store, then. I'd make sure, if you haven't already, you give her a nest box right away so she can start getting used to it.

How would I make the nest box? If she turns out to be gravid I plan to seperate her from my male.. so should I just put her in a big tub-a-ware box thing.. We have a lot of those, god knows why my mom brings home boxes of paper bags from her storytimes at Barnes and Noble

i separated my girl in into a smaller cage, then i set up a nesting box kind of like the one at deer fern farms. it seems to work, she likes going in there anyway and digging around anyway (she's still eating though, totally attacked the hibiscus i offered her yesterday). i made mine a bit smaller though to fit in the cage, i used one of the reeeeeally big gladware tupperware things, i cut out a hole and then wrapped it in black electrical tape so it would still be dark and snuggly for her.

Well thanks, you've been a big help. If she does turn out to be gravid I guess I'll just tackle this problem. Hopefully it's more successful than with my Leopard Gecko.. died on me.. which wasn't much fun, I had her for 3 years. Bah...

i know what you mean. we have had quinn since she was a hatchling and she's about 5 now. she's really too small to be having babies (she's a bit stunted) and we weren't even trying to breed her, didn't know she and the male were humping, all of a sudden she's chock full of eggs. it would be great for her to lay some fertile eggs and to hatch them and all, but mostly i just want her to come through it o.k. she's my little girl
