I looked charlie in the eye and lived to tell about it

Well I got in to Daytona Friday night just a few hours before Charlie. the Daytona was shut down and buttoning up for the storm. 85mph winds whipped through the city causing a bit of damage BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Saturday was not that busy but Sunday was the usual hustle and bustle of the National show. I saw some magnificent BDs at the show but but all I ended up bringing home was 2 adult Rhino Iguana breeder females and a Gargoyle Geko for my daughter.

I can't believe you ended up going! That storm looked scary, and I'm safe in texas!

Looks like the show was fun. I wish we had reptile shows like that in my area.

Go Friday and hope for the best or get up at the crack of dawn Saturday and hope things were better. I hate waking up extra early sooooo, I picked Friday. We left Miami at 3:30 and had noooooo traffic at all. Let's just say everyone on the road was trying to outrun the storm and nooobody was taking their time about it. No rain driving up, it was actually an easy drive, all tolls were suspended and no Highway Patrol on the roads. I am definately glad I went and it was good to see a few faces from here as well.

There was a lot of damage to property including cars from a lot of people at the show. I have not heard anything about Bill Hoest. He lives in Punta Gorda and that got flattened. There were several hotels with no power or phones and every single hotel was booked with Reptile people or with refugees fleeing other cities thinking they would be safe in Daytona. So I considder myself very lucky. I survived Andrew and Charley.

The Rhinos are not that big, only 6 and 8 pounds. LOL but compared to my Fred (Red Tegu) at almost 25 lbs, most lizards are small.

Hope I get to see you and other familiar folks next year.
