Where can silkworms and butterworms be purchased

purelake Jun 24, 2003 10:15 AM

I saw down below that someone said they are a good food source for beardies. Can't seem to find them anywhere. Are red worms appropriate to feed?

I had been a loyal customer and member until they goofed up on an order I made a few weeks ago.
I had ordered 200 silkies and they only sent me 100. I have emailed them on four different occations to try to get my order straightened out. Never once have they responded that they have received my emails at all. Which is odd since they are so quick to respond to orders.
So, I decided to place one more order with them yesterday and outlined in their "notes" portion of the order form my exact problem with my last order and asked that they please include the additional 100 silkies in this order that I ahve already paid for yet never received.
I do not expect them to send the silkies, but at least this way I know they did indeed receive this email.
I have been very disappointed with their customer service this far in regards to correcting mistakes they have made.

but called them and they fixed them right away, even one time i had a lot of die off with some wax and butters and they sent me extra with my next order, perhaps it depends who you get through to talk with. does stink to have a bad experience with a company.

reptiledepot.com has them cheaper, but ship through USPS so it takes a little longer depending. Silkies are a great food source, but butters should be limited due to their high fat content.

www.mulberryfarms.com
has both butter and silkworms. It would also help to know if you are in the US or elsewhere. If you are in Canada, like me, www.silkworms.ca is another place to get them

ill have to order and take a drive there this weekend perhaps...just a word about mulberry, the guy is excellent, very nice and his feeders are just great, if you can buy from them, its definatly worth it =]

Yeah I think the last time I checked their site (as it is the only one I have found that gives directions on how to prepare the silky food) they announced their butterworms had come in. This was about a month ago now so don't know if they still have some in stock.

Oh, I checked their site znd they don't have anything indicating they have butters...I think I am mistaking mulberry farms with silkworms.ca LOL....sorry for the confusion. (too much time on my hands at work lately, wind up checking so many different sites, they all get mixed up after awhile.)
