Before you say call the vet or take her to the vet, I did and I will tomorrow. Not EVERYONE works with reptiles. Oi!
I fed Kaali today, a small rat and then cleaned her cage and put in fresh bedding. At about 6, I saw her drinking from her dish and I told my mom. I've NEVER seen her drink before and I thought it was cool.
Enter two hours later. I go upstairs and get her out of her cage and take her downstairs to let the dog in. I notice the dog has water drops on her head and I see water running down my arm. At first, I think Kaali is peeing on me but then I realize that snakes DON'T pee. I see that she has water coming out of her mouth and nose when I point her towards the ground. There are several BIG spots on the cement from the amount of water she consumed. Bubbles appear at the corner of her mouth and I forget about the dog and get a towel.
I hold her head gently and tip her head down. More water. I panic, show my mom and step dad and then put her back in the cage. I call the emergency vets and they're no use since they don't deal with reptiles so I call a well known and reputable pet store and the person says that Kaali might have a respiratory infection. I call my personal vet and page the on-call doc, she doesn't deal with reptiles and only offers that there is something wrong with Kaali. She tells me that theior reptile vet will be in tomorrow and to make an appointment at 730 when the clinic opens...
Does anyone know what exactly is wrong with Kaali?
