Another Arizona Monsoon Outing

JDM Aug 16, 2004 10:59 PM

Went out with my best friend herping in NE Maricopa County/Gila County on Saturday night. Haven't really been out for a while. The weather seemed better than our results, but we did find a few critters. We saw plenty of tarantulas on the move and here are the pics in the order in which they were found, both AOR and DOR:

Nice pics of the toads. I was considering heading W. of Phoenix, but decided to try the E. side that night.

Nice little kingsnake. That was east of Phoenix? Ours in Green Valley have lots more black. Do you have any more pics of that one?

Yes, that was NE of Phoenix. I did not take any more pics of the little guy, but it was a hatchling from this year. It was a pure Cal King with no splendida influence like some from S. Arizona.

Thanks, Jaren. The kings from Phoenix are definitely cool snakes, and I'll sure be looking for one next time I get up there. Take care and please post pics of any you find. Later....Terry.
