chondro questions

hey evrybody , i havent gotten a chance to post anything in the gtp forum yet , but have used the other forums a bit , and have liked how kingsnake has put them togethr. I would like to start off w some questions . First off, something that has been puzzling me for a while . my gtp was sold to me as a biak island locale gtp. And from what i hear , they dont throw blue at all , but my animal has increasing amounts of blue showing up on his back , which leads me to believe that i was mislead in purchasing a biak gtp . though the animal is retaining an extrememly large amount of yellow , which is typical of a biak , atleast from what i have heard. Secondly, my animal is about 40 inches long , so coming up on three and a half feet in length , and i was wondering if u could suggest a good meal size for him , i have been feeding him two - three large rat pups w no problems every sunday , he is an amazingly good eater. And last , i was wondering what size my animal has to be before it can start breeding , thanx for your time.

I can't answer all those q's but I'll give it a shot. Locales are usually just guesses as to where an animal was originally collected from which is hard to retain in captivity. The biaks I have seen are just green and yellow. Don't worry, you'll have a beautiful snake, regardless. For food, you should go by girth not lenght, I would have to see a picture. For breeding, I have no idea but I believe Mr. Osbourne once posted something about the breeding potential of small males. I'm a newbie myself so I'd wait for some better answers!

Biaks can have blue, My female that I have purchased from Tim Rash.. is a female Biak and has lots of blue and yellow. Breeding size for male is usally 2.5 to 3 years old. Depends on your male..
