Baby turtle ID?

arden Aug 17, 2004 09:16 AM

Can anyone identify this baby? I originally thought it was a painted but the shell doesn't look right.

It is about 2" long and was found in a muddy pond in NJ.

I agree, it is either a stinkpot, common musk turtle. Or a mud turtle. Depends on where you live. Mud and Musk turtles are definately one of my favorites, they can be great 'pets'.
