calcium powder question

mefingas Aug 17, 2004 12:40 PM

When I first got my leopard gecko I put in a small dish of calcium powder but it seemed like she never used it. So I took it out and I dust her crickets everytime she gets feed them(every other day), the other days she gets meal worms. The reason why I am asking this question is this morning she was licking at her stone water dish, I am not she if she was even touching the water. Do you think she was looking for calcium? Do you think I should put in the dish again? And another random question, how often do leopard geckos shedd? Any help would be great. Thank you for all the help.

you should probably leave the dish in, its just incase and most set ups recommend it. I've had my leo for 4 years and never once seen her lick anything aside from when she was being fed (the calc dish happens to be her food dish)
Also they shed when they grow too big for their skin which in my experience can vary. Young geckos will shed it seems all the time but monthly is a rough estimate
