Finally. This my first Russian egg to hatch. Had another clutch that was not successful. This one has a sibling that should be pipping any minute also. I just couldn't wait to post her picture.

Elongated eggs will "usually" pip on the end.. of couse spheres don't have an end.. (kidding)!

Maybe your pic is an optical illusion?

So true...
I had a bunch of Egyptian eggs hatch to where it was noticable that they hatched from the side to where I made a note of how the hatchlings were folded on a diagnal. This happened about 5 out of 50 times. Normally they did pip out of the end.

Leopard tortoises always pip out of the side(unless you get the odd shaped egg and even then...)
