Oh my gosh... How cute! That is a great pic. Your so lucky. My russians will be a long time till they breed. I can't wait.

Elongated eggs will "usually" pip on the end.. of couse spheres don't have an end.. (kidding)!
Maybe your pic is an optical illusion?

So true...
I had a bunch of Egyptian eggs hatch to where it was noticable that they hatched from the side to where I made a note of how the hatchlings were folded on a diagnal. This happened about 5 out of 50 times. Normally they did pip out of the end.
Leopard tortoises always pip out of the side(unless you get the odd shaped egg and even then...)
